The good folks at Perfect Sound Forever have been writing seriously and smartly about music since the internet was invented, or so it seems. So even though some other forthcoming accolades have made my day (buy The New York Times this Sunday!), I’m really stoked to be featured in the current issue of Perfect Sound Forever.

The phenomenal rock archives Rock’s Backpages is featuring an excerpt from Queens of Noise this week, along with some other tasty Runaways-related morsels from their library. RBP was an extraordinary resource for me in my own work on the book. Founder and author Barney Hoskyns is THE authority on West Coast rock (although he’s a Brit). It’s an honor to be in their company.
Today is Joan Jett Day in West Hollywood. She’s the honoree of the annual Sunset Strip Music Festival — awesome! Sadly, I’m still in Paris (woe is me) and missing out on the fun. In Joan’s honor, KCET’s Artbound blog just published an excerpt from Queens of Noise.
