The good folks at Perfect Sound Forever have been writing seriously and smartly about music since the internet was invented, or so it seems. So even though some other forthcoming accolades have made my day (buy The New York Times this Sunday!), I’m really stoked to be featured in the current issue of Perfect Sound Forever.

Bringing the Noise to Austin
I had an amazing reading at my local hangout The Corner Store yesterday. It’s now time to take the Queens of Noise show on the road! My first stop will be Austin, where I’ll be presenting at the MEOW Conference on October 25. MEOW stands for Musicians for Equal Opportunities for Women. The event is organized by Carla DeSantis Black, she of Rockrgrl magazine fame. Suzi Quatro will be keynoting, and a lot of other amazing women musicians, activists, and scholars will be participating.
Just in case you had any doubts that there is need for women to be empowered in the music industry, Jean Synodinis put together this inforgraphic of Women in Music By the Numbers.
Please include attribution to MEOW Online with this graphic.

Hunky Black Tomcat Seeks Owner
This very outgoing, people-loving cat turned up at our door a few weeks ago. He loves people and was clearly someone’s pet. We took him to the shelter last week, hoping his owners would claim him. However, no one has turned up, and he is now up for adoption. If he’s not adopted, he will be euthanized. Help me prevent this from happening! I will pay the adoption fees of anyone who will give this sweetheart the good home he deserves. Contact me or the Harbor Animal Shelter.
